Can the package be washed in the washing machine?

Is it suitable for both summer and winter?
Absolutely – thanks to the natural properties of merino wool, it adapts to the temperature, so your baby always sleeps comfortably.
Why choose a button closure?
The button closure at the bottom makes changing quick and easy without waking your baby. It also allows you to adjust the diaper to your baby's size. Tying it directly under the feet creates extra closure and security for your baby.
Warmer than a blanket. Softer than you expect.
A baby who sleeps well is a baby who feels safe. Not too warm, not too cool — just right. That is what merinowool does, and what no synthetic material can imitate.
This sleeping bag is made of 100% merinowool in a soft teddy texture, but then in a shaped sleeping bag for the very little ones. Airy and soft on the outside, cozy on the inside.
No TOG. But temperature regulation.
Sleeping bags made of synthetic materials and cotton have a fixed TOG value: one blanket for summer, another for winter. Merinowool works differently. It adapts: it dissipates heat when your baby gets warm, and insulates when it’s cold. One sleeping bag. Usable all year round.
As a neonatal nurse, I see how important temperature regulation is for a newborn baby. Newborns cannot yet regulate their own temperature well. Merinowool takes over much of that.
Why parents choose this sleeping bag
- No TOG choice needed — merinowool naturally regulates temperature, summer and winter
- Soft teddy texture — airy and soft, does not itch the skin
- Breathable — prevents overheating and sweating
- 100% merinowool — no synthetic fibers, no additives
- Made in the EU — Human Friendly ECO and REACH certified
- Practical zipper system — opens from top to bottom for easy changing
Made by a family who knows wool from the inside out
This sleeping bag is made by a family business in Eastern Europe — a region with a long tradition in wool processing. For two generations, this family has handcrafted wool products, without synthetic fibers, without compromising on quality.
What sets them apart: they work exclusively with 100% pure wool, and every product is finished as it should be: with attention to detail you feel as soon as you hold it. The wool is certified through the 'Human Friendly ECO' program, which after extensive testing confirms that the fibers are completely natural and free of synthetic additives. Also REACH certified, and Woolmark certification is pending.
For Moalie, this was exactly the partner we were looking for: a company where craftsmanship and integrity are not marketing terms, but simply the way they work.

Frequently Asked Questions
What TOG value does this sleeping bag have?
Merinowool has no fixed TOG value. That is precisely the advantage: wool adapts to your baby’s temperature. If it gets warmer, it dissipates heat. If it gets cooler, it insulates. You don’t need separate summer and winter sleeping bags.
Does merinowool itch?
No. Merinowool has extremely fine fibers that bend with the skin instead of pricking. The teddy texture of this sleeping bag adds an extra layer of softness.
Can I use this sleeping bag all year round?
Yes. Thanks to the temperature-regulating properties of merinowool, this is a sleeping bag for all seasons. It breathes in summer and keeps warm in winter.
How do I wash the sleeping bag?
Wool is naturally self-cleaning and needs little washing. Air the sleeping bag regularly. If washing is needed: wool wash program at max 30°C with wool detergent, do not spin dry, dry flat.

Frequently asked questions
Is this outfit suitable for newborns?
Yes. Designed from day one. The soft merinowool fiber is gentle on the most sensitive skin, and the button closure adjusts to your baby’s length.
What size is available?
The outfit fits from birth up to about 4–6 months, depending on how your baby grows.
Is the outfit also suitable for summer?
Yes. Merinowool naturally regulates temperature — warm in winter, cooler in summer. No separate pajamas needed for each season.
Why no zipper?
A zipper can press or feel cold. The button closure is softer, adjustable, and when used under the feet creates a sense of boundary that helps calm babies.
What is the difference between beige and camel?
Both are timeless, warm shades that effortlessly combine with the rest of the Moalie collection. Beige is light and warm, camel is a bit richer and deeper in tone.
FAQs
From birth. Merinowool is suitable for newborns, including premature babies, provided the fibers are fine enough and the garment fits well without tight elastics or pressure points.
Yes. That is precisely one of the strong qualities of merino wool. The fiber can absorb up to about 35 percent of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet. The moisture is drawn away from the skin and released again through evaporation. As a result, the skin stays drier than with cotton or synthetic fabrics.
With merino wool, the fiber thickness says a lot about the comfort. It is measured in microns: the lower the number, the finer and softer the wool feels. For babies, fibers of approximately 15 to 19 microns are usually used.
For Moalie products, we exclusively select fine merino wool that is gentle on sensitive baby skin.
That depends on the situation. Cotton is comfortable in warm temperatures and is often more affordable. Merinowool naturally regulates temperature and wicks moisture. This makes it especially suitable in the first months, during sleep, and in changing temperatures. Many parents combine both materials.
Merinowool can shrink if it is not washed properly. Therefore, we recommend hand washing merinowool clothing with a special wool detergent and cold or lukewarm water. Not every washing machine has a reliable wool wash program. Afterwards, lay the garment flat to dry so it retains its shape.
