"I wanted to design baby clothes that not only look beautiful but also feel comfortable. That became Moalie"

— Danielle, NICU nurse

Which size should I choose for a newborn?

For a baby weighing around 3 to 3.5 kilos, size 56 fits during the first few weeks. If your baby is growing quickly, the due date has already passed, or you are buying it as a baby shower gift, choose size 62. A sleepsuit can be a little roomy, as long as the feet are not restricted.

Can my baby sleep in this?

Yes, a sleepsuit is designed for sleeping in. Pair it with a sleep bag suitable for the room temperature and, when in doubt, feel your baby's neck rather than their hands.

Does my baby need anything underneath?

At a normal room temperature, a bodysuit underneath is enough. If it is colder, a merino wool layer underneath provides extra warmth without causing your baby to overheat.

Can this be worn with the umbilical cord stump still attached?

Yes. The zip runs along the side and is concealed in the seam, so nothing hard or tight rests against the tummy.

Does the sleepsuit stretch out after a few washes?

No. The 5% elastane actually helps the sleepsuit retain its shape, including around the knees and feet. Wash at 30 degrees and dry flat to keep the shape intact.

Does the colour stay beautiful?

Wash at 30 degrees and dry flat, away from direct sunlight. This helps the colour stay beautiful for longer.

Machine wash at 30°C, inside out, with a mild, fragrance-free detergent. Do not use fabric softener. Do not tumble dry: drying flat helps preserve the shape and color.

Soft cotton footed romper in light blue. A concealed side zip makes dressing calm and quick, while snaps between the legs make changes easy.

Dress your baby without waking them

During the first few weeks, the goal is to cause as little disruption as possible. Every time you pull an outfit over your baby’s head, they may startle awake: arms up, head unsupported, and that peaceful moment is gone.

This romper has a zip that runs along the side. Place your baby inside, close the zip in one smooth movement, and fasten the snaps between the legs. No tugging, no cold tummy, no startled baby.

The zip is concealed in the side seam, so you cannot see it and your baby cannot feel it against their skin. For you, it is the difference between a minute of fiddling and a task you can manage even half-asleep.

Breathable cotton

A baby’s skin is delicate and reacts immediately to what surrounds it. That is why we chose 95% cotton with 5% elastane: breathable and kind to the skin, with just enough stretch to move with your baby as they stretch, kick and pull themselves up.

That small amount of elastane also makes a difference for you. The romper keeps its shape after washing, does not sag at the knees and retains its fit, even when your baby wears it for days at a time.

The seams lie flat, the trim is soft, and there are no hard edges where your baby lies.

Light blue in real life

A soft, muted blue with a grey undertone. Not bright baby blue, but calm and clear, making it easy to pair with ecru, sand and natural tones.
