Mag mijn baby erin slapen?

Our pure merino wool and cashmere are so pure that they don't need to be washed before first use. The natural lanolin provides self-cleaning properties; often, a quick airing outside in the crisp morning air is enough to refresh the fibers.

Over dit product

After almost thirty years in the NICU, I know this: a baby feels the quality of what they wear. Merino wool is exceptional on its own. Add a share of cashmere and you get something that is hard to put into words — a softness your hands can feel and a warmth a baby's body recognises straight away. This is the Snuggle Coco Merino Wool & Cashmere in the colour Sienna.

Sienna is a warm, earthy beige. Soft and full, without drawing attention to itself — a colour that looks lovely against newborn skin and suits every season. It is not an ordinary cocoon. It is a deliberate choice for parents who want to wrap the very first days in the best there is. A cocoon that wraps, contains and soothes — with the refined qualities of two of the most precious textile fibres in the world.

Why containment matters so much for newborns

In the NICU we use containment every day — as a technique to stabilise vulnerable babies during medical care. The effect is visible straight away: babies relax, their breathing deepens, their heart rate settles. The Snuggle Coco brings that principle home. Soft enough for the very first hours, sturdy enough to use every day.

Softness down to the fibre

Merino wool and cashmere both have fibres so fine that they don't itch, not even on the most sensitive baby skin. Together they offer a softness that cotton alternatives can't match.

Natural temperature regulation

Newborns can't regulate their own temperature yet. Merino wool and cashmere are both naturally temperature-regulating — they keep your baby warm when needed and help prevent overheating when not.

Open at the bottom for nappy changes

The Snuggle Coco is open at the bottom, so you can change your baby's nappy while they stay snug inside the cocoon. Less disruption for both of you.

Suitable for premature babies

For vulnerable and premature babies, containment is especially valuable. The cocoon gives them the warmth and the enveloping feeling they particularly need.

Merino wool and cashmere together

Merino wool regulates temperature and is naturally self-cleaning. Cashmere adds an exceptional softness that no other natural fibre matches. Together they make a material that is both practical and special — a combination you rarely find in baby products.

Important for safe use

The Snuggle Coco is designed for comfort and a sense of security. Always supervise your baby when the hood is worn over the head. For unsupervised sleep, we advise folding the hood down so your baby's face stays clear. Always put your baby to sleep on their back and make sure nose and mouth stay free, in line with safe sleep guidelines.

Frequently asked questions

How is this Snuggle Coco different from the Pointelle version?

The Pointelle Snuggle Coco is made of 100% merino wool in an open pointelle knit. The Snuggle Coco Merino Wool & Cashmere combines merino wool with cashmere for an exceptionally soft, dense knit. Both give the same containment and sense of security, but the feel of the material is noticeably different. Also take a look at the Pointelle Snuggle Coco Beige or Pointelle Snuggle Coco Camel.

Is cashmere safe for newborns?

Yes — like fine merino wool, cashmere has fibres that don't itch on sensitive baby skin. The Snuggle Coco Merino Wool & Cashmere is hypoallergenic and free from harmful substances.

Which matching items are available in Sienna?

Sienna is available as a complete line: the beanie, the newborn booties, the baby booties, the Cable Jumpsuit and the merino baby blanket.

How do I wash the Snuggle Coco with cashmere?

Hand wash at 30°C with a mild wool detergent. Gently squeeze out the water — never wring — and dry flat to keep its shape.

Is the Snuggle Coco suitable for premature babies?

Yes — gentle containment is especially valuable for premature babies. The cocoon gives vulnerable babies the warmth and the feeling of being held that they need so much.

Founder Note

"I don't believe in fleeting trends or the abundance of plastic in the nursery. Our collection was born from a practical need: items that do what they're supposed to do, without compromising your child's health.

Natural fibers are key here. Synthetic materials often seal against the skin, while merino wool and cashmere breathe and regulate temperature. This prevents overheating and irritation, which is essential for healthy sleep.

No harmful chemicals, no unnecessary details, and no flashy colors. Only the finest materials that last for years and retain their value. Honest textiles that contribute to a healthy start, without any fuss.
