Premature or dysmature babies lose heat quickly and often struggle to keep socks on: they're too big and slip off. Based on our experience in neonatology, we've had these Preemie merino wool slippers made. They fit sizes 40 to 56 and fit perfectly around little feet.

The drawstring ensures the slippers stay put, keeping their feet protected and warm. Merino wool is also breathable and temperature-regulating: it helps vulnerable babies maintain a healthy body temperature without sweating.

These slippers are a loving and practical first garment, specially developed for the littlest ones who need extra care and warmth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are special booties needed for premature and dysmature babies?
Because these babies get cold faster, and regular socks are often too big and fall off. Our Preemie slippers fit snugly and stay in place thanks to the drawstring.

Is merino wool suitable for the sensitive skin of premature and dysmature babies?
Yes, merino wool is soft, breathable, and temperature-regulating. It retains heat without feeling stuffy and feels comfortable against delicate baby skin.

Can I also use the booties for small newborns?
Yes, the Preemie size (40–56) is also suitable for newborn babies with small feet.

What is the difference between premature and dysmature?
A premature baby is born too early, before 37 weeks of pregnancy. A dysmature baby is smaller or lighter than expected for their gestational age. Both groups of babies often struggle to maintain their body temperature. Therefore, well-fitting booties and natural materials like merino wool are especially important: they help retain heat without overheating.

Merino wool is a natural, self-cleaning material. This means thatairOften enough to keep it fresh. Only wash when absolutely necessary.
