Daniëlle Kempers, neonatal nurse
"In neonatology, I still see it: babies weighing two kilos wearing a hat that slips down over their eyes. A hat that doesn’t fit doesn’t protect — it lets heat escape exactly where you don’t want it to. This hat fits well from 2 kilograms. That’s not a detail. That’s the point."

Yes — and that is exactly why we designed it. V

Many hats are too large for a newborn, allowing warmth to escape through the open space beneath the edge.

This hat fits well from birth, even for babies around 2 kilograms. The wide brim is adjustable, ensuring the head is always well covered.

Wool or hand wash program, max. 30°C. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat on a towel. Airing after use is almost always sufficient — merino wool is naturally self-cleaning.

Note: The hat does not need to be washed beforehand.

A true wool allergy is rare. What people often experience as an allergy is irritation caused by coarse wool fibers.

Merinowool has a much finer fiber and does not cause that irritation.

If a lanolin allergy is diagnosed, we recommend consulting a doctor.

Our merino/cashmere hats are specially designed for the very littlest ones. Thanks to the turn-up brim, you can adjust the hat's height, making size S suitable from birth – even for premature babies. The combination of merino wool and cashmere makes the hat wonderfully soft, breathable, and temperature-regulating: warm in winter and airy in summer.

The hats are available in four timeless colours – Sienna, Sage, Cream and Grey – and in three sizes:

  • S (0–6 months) – from birth, including premature babies

  • M (6–12 months)

  • L (1–3 years)

Complete the set with the matching booties in the same colours, available in newborn (0–3 months) and baby sizes (0–12 months).

Why parents choose this hat:

  • Merino & cashmere: super soft and safe for sensitive baby skin

  • Thermoregulating: warm without being hot

  • Adjustable brim – grows with your child

  • Suitable from birth (also premature babies)

  • Matching slippers available

Frequently Asked Questions
Isn't merino wool too warm for a baby?
No, merino wool breathes and regulates temperature. Your baby stays warm without sweating.

How do I know which size to choose?
Size S is suitable from birth, even for premature babies. For babies older than 6 months, we recommend size M.

Can I buy matching slippers separately?
Yes, booties are available separately, but they also pair beautifully with the hat. They also make a great maternity gift.

From the NICU to your baby's nursery

"Every time I see a hat that slips over the eyes, I think: this could have been done better."

After 28 years in the NICU, I see it again and again: newborns wearing hats that are too big.

A hat that doesn’t fit doesn’t protect — warmth escapes exactly where you don’t want it to.

This is especially true for babies weighing 2 kilos. They don’t need a hat that looks cute. They need a hat that stays in place.

That difference is the only reason this hat exists.
