Why Your Baby Needs Sunglasses

Babies' eyes let in up to 70% more UV radiation than adults'. Their natural protection (such as pigment and pupillary reflex) is not yet fully developed. Damage from sunlight can only become apparent years later. That's why it's important to protect your baby's eyes from an early age.

Why is UV protection so important?

  • 👶 Baby eyes are 70% more sensitive to UV than adult eyes
  • 🌞 80% of eye damage from UV occurs before the age of 18
  • ⚠️ A cloth over the stroller does not block UV and can cause overheating
  • 🧠 Babies can't protect themselves – they don't close their eyes properly yet
  • 🕶️ Sunglasses with a UV400 filter protect and prevent overstimulation
  • "I just put a cloth over the stroller." → A cloth not only blocks the view and air circulation, but also increases the temperature in the stroller. This can lead to overheating and insufficient protection against UV radiation.
  • "A cap or sun visor is sufficient." → These protect the skin, but not the eyes themselves, from UV.

Sunglasses are not an accessory – they are protection

As a neonatal nurse, I see every day how vulnerable young babies are. We protect their skin, their heads... but we often forget about their eyes. While UV damage can be permanent. Our sunglasses are designed to solve this in a safe and comfortable way - with knowledge from practice.
