In my years working in neonatology, I saw the same thing time and again: babies who got too warm in synthetic bonnets, or who were restless even when nothing seemed to be wrong. Often, it was the material. Merino wool does something that no synthetic material can: it reacts to your baby's body.
The head is the largest heat-loss surface for a newborn. Therefore, a good bonnet isn't just an accessory — it's a part of how your baby feels.

Care
Wash on a wool or hand-wash cycle, max. 30°C. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat on a towel. When used correctly, merino wool rarely needs washing — airing it out is often sufficient.

My baby has sensitive skin. Is this bonnet suitable?
Yes. Premium merino wool is naturally hypoallergenic and feels soft — even on the most sensitive baby skin. It cannot be compared to regular wool.
How do I know which size I need?
For newborns, we recommend size S. Thanks to the adjustable brim, the bonnet also fits slightly smaller or larger heads. When in doubt: choose the smallest size that fits.
How often should I wash this bonnet?
Merino wool is naturally self-cleaning. Airing it out in between uses is often enough. Only wash when absolutely necessary, using a gentle wool or hand-wash cycle at max. 30°C.

- Hand wash in lukewarm water (max. 30°C) with a mild wool detergent. Dry flat, do not tumble dry.
Wool cleans itself. Often a little airing is all it needs.

Can my baby sleep in a hat?
Not indoors. A baby actually loses excess heat through the head. Take the hat off when your baby sleeps indoors, and use it outside or in a cool room.
How do I know if my baby is warm enough?
Feel the back of the neck or between the shoulder blades, not the hands or feet. In a newborn, those almost always feel cooler. Warm and dry is good, clammy means too warm.
Doesn't wool feel itchy on the head?
No. We use extra-fine merino wool. The fibres are so fine that they bend against the skin and feel soft, even on a sensitive scalp.
Which size should I choose?

When will my order arrive?
We ship from the Netherlands: within the EU usually in 3 to 6 working days, to the UK in 4 to 8, and to the US and Canada in 7 to 14. Shipping is free from €150.
Can I return my purchase?
You can withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receipt, and then have 14 days to send it back. The item must be unused and unwashed, with labels attached. Return shipping costs are at your own expense.
