Because merinowool is a pure natural product, small fuzz balls may form with friction. This is called pilling and is not a defect but a normal characteristic of fine wool fibers. Any fuzz can be easily removed with our wool comb.

Een fijn gebreid mutsje van merinowol en cashmere in Rice Flower. De omslagbare rand pas je aan het hoofdje aan, zodat het ook bij kleine newborns vanaf circa 2 kg mooi aansluit.

Een mutsje dat blijft zitten

Veel newborn mutsjes zijn net te ruim. Ze schuiven omhoog of zakken over de oogjes, en houden de warmte minder goed vast.

Dit mutsje heeft een brede omslagrand. Bij een klein hoofdje sla je hem verder om, later wat minder. Zo blijft het rustig zitten en gaat het langer mee.

Zacht op een klein hoofdje

Een pasgeboren baby verliest relatief veel warmte via het hoofdje. Het lijfje is nog aan het leren om de eigen temperatuur te regelen.

Merinowol ademt en voert vocht af. Zo blijft je baby warm, zonder het snel te warm te krijgen. Het beetje cashmere maakt het fijne breisel extra soepel.

Veelgestelde vragen

Vanaf welk gewicht past dit mutsje?

Maat S past vanaf circa 2 kg. Bij een heel klein hoofdje sla je de rand wat verder om, zodat het mutsje niet over de oogjes zakt.

Is merinowol niet te warm?

Nee. Merinowol ademt en voert vocht af. Het houdt warmte vast als het fris is, en laat warmte los als je baby het warmer krijgt. Daardoor is dit mutsje het hele jaar door te dragen.

Prikt wol niet op de huid?

Merinowol heeft een veel fijnere vezel dan gewone wol. Samen met cashmere voelt het breisel zacht en soepel, ook op een gevoelige babyhuid.

Moet mijn baby een mutsje op tijdens het slapen?

Liever niet. Binnen, in bed, geeft je baby juist warmte af via het hoofdje. Een mutsje is vooral fijn buiten, in de kinderwagen of de eerste dagen na de geboorte.

Hoe vaak moet ik het mutsje wassen?

Niet vaak. Wol is van nature vuilafstotend en neemt weinig geurtjes aan. Vaak is het genoeg om het mutsje even te laten luchten.
