Newborn Baby Drinks Every 2 Hours: Is That Normal?

by Danielle Kempers on Jun 13 2026
It is completely normal for a newborn baby to want to feed every 1.5 to 2 hours. This is because the stomach capacity of a newborn in the first days is very small (about the size of a cherry). Clustering, where a baby wants to feed very frequently during a certain period, is also a normal pattern, especially in the evening or during growth spurts.
