From when can my baby wear the hat?
Our size S is specifically designed for use from birth. Maternity nurses recommend packing a well-fitting hat made of natural materials in your travel suitcase, as a newborn loses most of its heat through its head.

Doesn't the wool itch on the sensitive scalp?
Absolutely not. We use only high-quality merino wool with a very fine fiber. This is much softer than regular wool and feels silky smooth, even for babies with very sensitive skin or just starting to develop their first downy hairs.

How can I be sure I choose the right size?
Size S (0-6 months) fits most babies from birth to around five months. Thanks to the wide, fold-over brim, the hat grows with your baby. Not sure between two sizes? For newborns, we always recommend Size S for the safest and most secure fit.

Isn't merino wool too warm for summer?
This is a common misconception. Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to body temperature. It keeps your baby warm in winter and cool and breathable in summer. Therefore, it's the ideal material year-round.

Do I need to wash the hat before first use?
Because our merino wool is 100% untreated and Oeko-Tex certified (free from harmful substances), washing before first use isn't necessary. Many mothers enjoy infusing the hat with the scent of home by leaving it in the baby's room for a while.

Why is merino wool more sustainable than cotton?
Merino wool lasts for generations, is biodegradable, and requires far less washing. This saves water and energy, and maintains its quality for years to come, perfect for any future generations.

Merino wool is a precious natural product with a unique characteristic: it's naturally self-cleaning. The lanolin in the fibers repels dirt and odors, meaning you'll need to wash the hat much less often than cotton.

Our tips for long-lasting quality:

  • Airing is washing:Often, it's enough to simply hang the hat overnight in the fresh air (or in the bathroom while showering). The water vapor helps the wool clean itself.
  • Spot cleaning:Do you have a small stain? Gently dab it away with a damp cloth and a small amount of wool detergent.
  • Hand wash (recommended):If you do want to wash the hat thoroughly, do so by hand in lukewarm water (maximum 30°C). Use a special wool detergent and avoid wringing or rubbing, as this can damage the fibers.
  • Washing machine (at your own risk):Use only a certified wool wash program at 30°C with a low spin speed. Note: Temperature fluctuations can cause shrinkage.
  • Drying:Let the hat dry flat on a towel, out of direct sunlight and away from a heater. This will help it maintain its perfect fit.

NB:Never use fabric softener or bleach, and never put the hat in the dryer.

Why most newborn hats don't fit (and ours does)

The first few days with your baby are the most special. Nothing is more annoying than a hat that constantly slides down over their eyes or sits too tight on that delicate head. While thermoregulation is crucial in the first week, synthetic fabrics often make the skin swelter.

Our merino wool hat is precision-designed for those first, precious moments. It's the only hat that truly fits perfectly from day one – just the way maternity nurses like it.

The benefits for your child

  • The perfect fit: Thanks to the wide brim, the hat fits softly without pinching. No sliding, no irritation. The brim is also adjustable (folds over), allowing you to perfectly adjust the size to your little one's head. This means one size lasts much longer.

  • Intelligent thermoregulation: Merino wool acts as a natural thermostat. It keeps your baby warm on cold nights, yet breathes when the temperature rises. This way, their head always stays at the ideal temperature.

  • Silky soft: Forget the itchiness of traditional wool. Our premium merino wool is hypoallergenic and feels like a second skin—perfect for early hair growth and sensitive skin.

  • Self-cleaning: The natural lanolin in the wool repels dirt and bacteria. That means less washing and more time to enjoy.

Designed by professionals, loved by mothers

It's no wonder our Size S (0-6 months) is a favorite among maternity nurses. While other brands often run too large for a newborn, this hat offers the security a baby needs to make the transition to the outside world a smooth one.

"Finally, a hat that doesn't fall off while I sleep. The quality of the wool is beautiful; it has the timeless aesthetic I'm looking for, but with the functionality my baby needs." – Sophie, mother of Lou.

Founder Note

"I don't believe in fleeting trends or the abundance of plastic in the nursery. Our collection was born from a practical need: items that do what they're supposed to do, without compromising your child's health.

Natural fibers are key here. Synthetic materials often seal against the skin, while merino wool and cashmere breathe and regulate temperature. This prevents overheating and irritation, which is essential for healthy sleep.

No harmful chemicals, no unnecessary details, and no flashy colors. Only the finest materials that last for years and retain their value. Honest textiles that contribute to a healthy start, without any fuss.
